The State-led BJP government is engaged in encroachment of the government land, instead of distributing it among poor and forest dwellers, said MP H Vishwanath.

Speaking at Congress workers convention here on Saturday, he said the BJP government was involved in amassing wealth illegally. The BJP has been stating that it has done what the Congress could not carry out in the last 60 years. The finest example for it is FIR against BJP leaders for involving in illegality. The party workers should create awareness among voters on the welfare programmes initiated the UPA government and corruption charges against the BJP elected representatives.

“There is an opportunity for all in the Congress. The party is not restricted to any caste, religion or creed. To support the party workers, we have decided to field K M Lokesh from Madikeri constituency,” he said.

“The responsibility should be discharged efficiently by the elected representatives.”

The contribution of the JD(S) to the state is zero. Barring H D Deve Gowda, cases have been filed against all the family members in connection with the misappropriation and illegality, said Block Congress president K M Ganesh.

MLC T John accused the BJP MLAs for taking up poor quality of road work. The roads are in deplorable condition in the district.

Congress leader Chandramauli said that the BJP elected representatives have failed to initiate development work in the district inspite of claiming Rs 1,600 crore worth development work in the district. K M Lokesh said “BJP leaders are engaged in levelling allegations against me fearing defeat in the constituency. As many as 16 gram panchayats are in the hands of Congress supported members. The BJP and the JD(S) will lose the election.”
