KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar has said that if Gujarath Chief Minister comes to State for election campaign, then he should give answer to the corruption of the BJP and lack of development in the State.

Speaking to mediapersons prior to taking part in election campaign at Udupi on Sunday, he said, “we are not stating that Modi should not come to the State for campaign. However, he should provide answer to the corruption of former minister B S Yeddyurappa and why the BJP was divided into three fractions in the State? He should speak on low progress in development.”

He said that those aspirants who have been denied ticket will be given suitable position in the Congress. He also said that former CM S M Krishna has taken part in the election campaign. Later speaking at a Congress convention, he said that the voters should back the Congress for clean administration and development of the State.

“Assembly poll is a challenge to the party. We will not give room for any confusion among the party workers and voters.”

“The BJP-led State government is mired in corruption. The BJP failed to distribute Ashraya houses among poor, and honorarium for aged. There has been illegality in the distribution of ration cards. The row over ration cards could not be solved so far. When the Congress was in power, we were distributing 25 kg rice for each card holder. However, the BJP reduced it to four kg of rice for each person in the family.”
Parameshwar said “the Food and Civil Supplies Minister had said that there were 30 lakh bogus ration cards in the State. However, the BJP government had failed to contain it. The industrial growth in the state has been declined by 2.2 per cent. Corruption was involved in the transfer of DCs and SPs.”

Stating that coastal district was known for peace and harmony, he said that after the BJP government came to power, there has been unrest in the coastal districts. He alleged that the BJP and the JD(S) have entered into a secret understanding to form coalition government in the State. However, this will not happen once again in the State. The ULB poll results have shown that the voters are craving for change in the district, said Congress leader Veeranna Mathikatti.

Congress candidates Vinay Kumar Sorake, Gopal Poojary, Malyadi Shivaram Shetty, and others were present.
