Almost two and a half months after Uttar Pradesh deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Zia ul Haq was brutally killed in a village in Kunda, the CBI finally questioned the controversial independent legislator and former UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya in this connection.

Raja Bhaiya had been booked for the murder of the DSP after the slain cop's wife Parveen Azad lodged an FIR accusing Singh of hatching conspiracy for murder.
According to sources here, Raja Bhaiya appeared before the CBI at its camp office at Kunda on Wednesday around 11 am. The CBI team which is probing the killing of the cop and two others reportedly quizzed Raja Bhaiya for several hours.
Security had been beefed in and around the CBI office when Raja Bhaiya reached there, the sources said, adding that the CBI had prepared a questionnaire for Singh, who has a long criminal history.

The CBI also quizzed Singh's cousin Akshoy Pratap Singh, his driver Rohit Singh and a few of his supporters in connection with the murder.

Raja Bhaiya was sacked from the UP cabinet after the slain DSP's wife levelled charges against him. Raja Bhaiya had claimed that he was innocent and was in the state capital when the killing took place.
