Two young men, including a teenager from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, were killed in separate road accidents in the City on Tuesday night, police said.

Suraj, 19, a native of Allahabad, lost control of his friend Deepak’s bike, when a lorry moving ahead slowed down and turned left at Bharath Junction on J C Road. Suraj didn’t expect the sudden change in the lorry’s direction. Flummoxed, he couldn’t slow the bike down in proportion to the lorry’s low speed.

Losing control of his motorcycle, he rear-ended the lorry. As the bike crashed into the lorry, Suraj suffered grievous injuries on the head and was killed on the spot, police added. Deepak, who was riding pillion, suffered minor injuries.

According to police, Suraj was doing odd jobs back home and had recently arrived in the City to visit Deepak who runs a pan shop on Double Road, Shanthinagar and lives at Dodda Mavalli.

The friends were reportedly riding the bike for enjoyment. City Market Traffic Police are investigating the case.

In another mishap, a 25-year-old man paid with his life when he lost control over his bike and rammed it into the road median near Kodigehalli gate.

Ravikumar, a resident of Vidyaranyapura, was reportedly overspeeding when the accident occurred, police sources claimed. The deceased, who was employed by a senior lawyer in the City as a driver, had given the car for servicing and was riding his friend’s bike when he met with the accident. Yelahanka Traffic Police are looking into the case.
