12 killed in UP train-truck collision
Lucknow, Nov1, DHNS:

A dozen people were killed and scores injured when a speeding passenger train rammed into a truck at an unmanned level crossing in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district, about 125 km from here, on Sunday.

PTI The Gorakhpur-Ayodhya passenger train was over crowded with devotees on way to Ayodhya to take part in the Kartik Purnima fair when it rammed into the truck at the Kalyanpur railway crossing.

Several passengers, who were standing on the foot board, fell off owing to the impact of the collision, Gonda district police chief A Padmaja said. Many passengers with broken arms and legs have been admitted to hospital.

According to the eye witness accounts, the truck was thrown several metres away after the collision and hit two coaches of the train.

All unmanned Railway crossings should be manned immediately.

Your Article 11Killed,24,Injuired in a train accident near Up was tragic and painful to read.The cause was a Passanger train hit a Truck near the Gate.Railway officials should be more alert and vigil to avoid this type of un expected incidents.Apart from Terrorism,Maoists attack,Natural Disaster ,this type of Accidents are increasing is a pity.Ipray for the victims and speedy recovery for the injuired.
