The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, which is celebrating its platinum jubilee, plans to set up of a new institution to impart and popularise various forms of Indian dance and music in the City. The institution will be named after Bhavan’s founder K M Munshi, whose 125th birth anniversary is also being celebrated.
Bhavan Chairman N Ramanuja told mediapersons that the institution of art and culture would provide a five-year diploma course in Carnatic and Hindustani music, Sugama Sangeeta, Bharatanatyam and other forms of art.
The courses will be open to all categories of people regardless of age. The fees will be nominal. The Bhavan is also planning an institution of good governance.
