Clinical Daniel, Shikha rule roost in Davangere

Daniel S Farid and Shikha Gautam ruled the roost in the boys’and girls’ categories of the Li-Ning 5-Star State-ranking badminton tournament here on Sunday.

Daniel bagged the under-19 and under-17 singles titles and topped the day off after pairing up with Harshith Aggarwal for the doubles crown in the under-19 category.

While Daniel’s triple title spree was impressive, Shikha went one better as she bagged four on the day.

Following singles titles in the under-19 and under-17 sections, she joined forces with Mahima Aggarwal and won the doubles titles in the both the categories to round off a very successful outing.

Results (all finals): Boys, under-19: Daniel S Farid bt Vaibhav 21-6, 21-10.

Doubles: Daniel S Farid/ Harshit Aggarwal (PPBA) bt Mithun Manjunath/ Raghu M (WPBA) 21-8, 21-13.

Under-17: Daniel S Farid S (PPBA) bt Mithun Manjunath (WPBA) 21-9, 21-16.
Doubles: Mithun Manjunath/ Raghu M (WPBA) bt Anish Upadhye/ Yash Amrut Lad (Bgv) 21-18, 21-15.

Under-15: Rahul Bhardhvaj BM (PPBA) bt Akshay Srinivas S (NGV) 21-12, 21-19.
Doubles: Akshay Srinivas S (NGV)/ Kevin ML (ECA) bt Rahul Bhardhvaj BM (PPBA)/ Saif Ali (BBCE) 21-11, 20-22, 21-16.

Under-13: Kartik Vyakaranam (NGV) bt Tejas Sanjay Kallolkar (Bgv) 23-21, 21-16.
Doubles: Ajinkya Joshi/ Tejas Sanjay Kallolkar (Bgv) bt Kartik Vyakaranam (NGV)/ Saket CS (SNC) 18-21, 21-13, 21-19.

Girls: Under-19: Shikha Gautam (PPBA) bt Mahima Aggarwal (PPBA) 21-16, 21-19.
Doubles: Mahima Aggarwal/ Shikha Gautam (PPBA) bt Arsheen Syed Saadath (PPBA)/ Parvathi Krishnan S (ECA) 21-18, 21-19.
