Bikers killed in separate accidents

A 30-year-old man died of injuries hours after he was knocked down by a milk tanker on Ring Road at Banashankari 3rd Stage on Wednesday night.

Sathish, a resident of Hosakerehalli, was hit by the tanker at around 11.45 pm on Pramod Layout junction, when the driver took a sudden turn and entered the main road, hitting Satish’s motorcycle, Byatarayanapura traffic police said.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Local residents shifted Sathish to the Columbia Asia Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries early Thursday morning. The victim had married 13 months ago, police added.

In another accident, Ananthkrishna Holla, 29, was killed when a concrete mixer truck rammed his bike head-on at Outer Ring Road, Sumanahalli, at 10 am when he was on his way to work. The truck driver escaped after abandoning the vehicle. Holla, who hailed from north Karnataka, had settled down in the City a few years ago. He was staying at Narasimha Layout, Laggere.
