The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) on Wednesday conducted an extended round of counselling for medical and dental postgraduate courses.

The counselling, which went on smoothly, was prompted following orders from the Supreme Court to surrender vacant seats to State government. The counselling was held for in-service and physically challenged candidates while for general category candidates counselling, will be held on Thursday and Friday.

“We have about 112 seats in all and we are hoping to fill those up in the coming two days,” said Dr D Prem Kumar, Registrar, RGUHS.

“Radiology is one of the most sought after courses as it does not involve dealing with a lot with patients while the pay remains relatively better than the rest,” said Dr Thippeswamy, an aspirant.

“Candidates who were not selected through all India quota now have a chance to get the seat in State quota,” said Dr Vinay, another aspirant.
