Members can have meals happily on happy occasion: Kamal Nath

As the Lok Sabha sat till late tonight to consider the Land Acquisition Bill, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad raised the issue of dinner for members, prompting Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath to invite them for meals after the bill is passed.

Yadav and Prasad rose to raise the issue of dinner saying it was getting late and there should be arangement for members of the lower house.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Nath whispered that dinner was being served in room 70 at first floor of the Parliament House building.

Later, Nath rose to make a formal announcement that members can have meals "happily" on the happy occasion of passage of the bill after the House is adjourned.

On one occasion, Speaker Meira KUmar told members to have patience as they will be served fresh meals.

After the House was adjourned for the day, most of the members, however, preferred to go home than have dinner in Parliament House.
