Special police team grills Jaishanker
Serial rapist and killer Jaishanker, who had escaped from the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison and was arrested near Kudlu Gate on Friday, is being grilled by a special team headed by B K Singh, Joint Commissioner (Law and Order), East.
The psycopath was produced before the 9th ACMM Court late on Friday night. The judge remanded him in police custody for nine days till September 16.
The South East Division police have taken him into custody and are interrogating him. A senior officer said that Jaishanker, contrary to media reports, had not fractured his backbone, nor was he wheel-chair bound. But he has suffered a fracture in his left foot and is being treated for the injury. Otherwise, his health is fine, he said.
The special team has also been assigned the task of probing the case. Jaishanker was taken to an undisclosed location in the City on Saturday and interrogated all day.
A senior officer who is part of the team refused to divulge details of the interrogation. Giving a brief picture, he said the team was trying to reconstruct the entire jailbreak episode with all the minor details. He said they were looking at the possibility of any insiders or jail officials helping him. The special team, acting on the inputs given by Jaishanker, is likely to question some of the jail officials, sources said.
All the eleven jail officials, suspended pending an inquiry by the Home department, will be questioned by the City police in connection with the escape of the dreaded killer, they added.
