A 11-year-old boy allegedly ended his life over a trivial issue at his house in NR Layout, Vijinapura, on Friday evening.

Vishnudas, a class 6 student at the nearby Jubilee School, was the only son of Ravichander, a cab driver and Bindu, a homemaker.

Vishnudas was watching television in the hall on Friday evening at around 6 pm, when his mother scolded him for watching television without a break, and asked him to study.
The boy went into the room and locked himself up. Bindu assumed he was studying in the room. At around 7:30 pm, she called out for him to have his dinner.

When he didn’t respond, Bindu went outside the house and peeped through the window from the other side, only to see him hanging from the ceiling fan in the room. With the help of neighbours, she broke open the door and brought him down. He was dead by then, sources said.

Ramamurthynagar police have registered a case of unnatural death. An autopsy was conducted at Dr B R Ambedkar Medical College and the body was handed over to the grieving family on Saturday morning.

On Friday at around 9.30 pm, Siddaraju came to his house with two of his friends and took Venkatesh outside the house.

The three allegedly took him to Sateesh Circle, 8th Cross, Rajgopalnagar, a few blocks away from the house.
