Bangalore police have tightened security in the City in view of the Ganesha festival.
Police commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar said that additional forces have been deployed across the City on festival day. In all, 30 battalions of Karnataka State Reserve Police, 32 battalions of the City Armed Reserve, 1,000 home guards apart from 9,000 civilian police had been mobilised for duty. CCTV cameras have been installed at places where large numbers of Ganesha idols are due to be immersed.
