KPCC office bearers to meet today
The KPCC has convened the office bearers’ meeting on Saturday to discuss among others preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
State party chief G Parameshwara will chair the meeting, which is also likely to take stock of the political situation in the State and the need for appointment of heads to various boards and corporations in the State government. The KPCC office bearers comprise 117 members.
Parameshwara said it was unfortunate that the BJP had declared Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 polls.
“Modi had divided Gujarat on communal lines in 2002. Now he has divided the BJP. In the absence of strong leadership, the BJP might have projected him as the leader. But people of the country will never accept him,” he added.
