Entering the world of animation

Animation, gaming, comics, graphic novel and mangas, all will be a part of Anime Convention which will roll in its fourth edition this year. Organised by the Korean Cultural Center along with Cinedarbaar, workshops, master-classes, sessions, gaming tournaments, exhibitions, merchandise, food, cosplay competition and special activities for children will all be a part of convention from September 27 to 29 in Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida.

Since it’s a gaming event, Diago Umehara aka ‘The Beast’, a pro-gamer from Japan in arcade and street fighting will be a part of the event. Besides, Ryō Hirano, an upcoming animator, quite popular for his unconventional myriad animation in Japan and other countries too, will take a master-class on animation and design for the very first time.

Also, there will be best and award-winning video game designers from Switzerland like Chris Solarski and Mario Von Rickenbach. Mario Von Rickenbach just won an award in the GDC (International Game Developers Conference) for the ‘Best Play’.

On the other hand, for those who are ardent lovers of comics,  Ryan Holmberg, an independent historian of Japanese art and comics, from USA will take a session. Historian Ryan Holmberg will offer a glimpse at manga produced in the wake of catastrophic events of Meltdown and Tsunami on March 11, 2011 in Japan.

He will be joined by the well-known Manga-comics historian and now filmmaker, Bharath Murthy. Also, Shoei Emura, Japanese Manga Artist based in Delhi will be present to take a few workshops on Manga drawing and sketching.

The convention will also promote the Korean culture which will include animation movies like S Robot Taekwon V by Kim Cheong-Gi, The King of Pigs by Yeon Sang-Ho. Also, there will be karoke lounge with KPOP music and dance, Korean food, fashion show, session on Korean design and other activities.
