Mother abandons newborn at hospital
The mother aged about 21, it is learnt, came to the hospital for a check up on September 20 and later complained of labour pain for which she was admitted. After delivering the baby she left the place without informing anyone, according to Jennifer from Bosco Mane.
The woman had registered herself in the name of Chitra from Hoskerehall. When the hospital tried to trace the mother, they learnt the information provided was false. The child is lodged at Shishu Mandir and kept there for three months within which efforts would be made to trace the mother. If untraced, the Child Welfare Committee will then take a call, according to Jennifer.

The CCB, who said the raid was carried out on a tip-off, have shown fake medicines worth Rs three lakh as being seized from the suspects.
