Bangalore's Shraddha pockets three individual gold in swimming

Bangalore’s Santhosh Kumar and Thippavva Sannakki of Mysore clinched the men’s and women’s half-marathon titles in the ninth Mysore Dasara Games here on Sunday.

Santhosh clocked 1:07.08 over 21.1 km to emerge champion in the men’s section while Madikeri’s BC Tilak (1:07.09) and Ajay Kumar (1:08.20) settled for the silver and bronze medals.

Sannakki was the runaway winner in the women’s race, crossing the line at 1:21.00 followed, at a distance, by Shimoga’s Shabeena (1:31.35) and Archana KM (1:37.29) of Mudbidri.

In the swimming event, Bangalore’s Akash Rohit claimed the gold in the 100M backstroke with a timing of 01:08.95 while Hemanth Jenukal of Mysore (01:08.95) and Aditya Ashok (01:09.99) of Belgaum bagged the second and third positions.
