CM rules out CBI probe into mining irregularities
Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Friday categorically ruled out the possibility of ordering a CBI inquiry into the alleged large scale irregularities in mining in Bellary district.
He pointed out that the Centre also cannot order a CBI investigation without the consent of the State government. “Without our consent the Centre cannot order CBI inquiry and we will not demand for it,” Yeddyurappa quipped.
He refused to react to the demand of Union Labour and Employment Minister Mallikarjun Kharge and other state Congress leaders for a CBI probe in to the mining scam.
