District administration goes tech savvy to attract tourists

Website launched to make Mysore a tourist destination for all

Are you good at designing greeting cards? Do you have any flair for making cakes? Is walking the ramp in traditional silk saree your cup of tea? Want to try your hand at singing? Then enroll your names for the array of contests organised by the district administration to make this December, a month to remember.

The district administration on Wednesday launched a dedicated website;www.destinationmysore.com, to promote tourist spots in and around the city, throughout the year. The above mentioned competitions mark the beginning of the promotion with greeting cards making contests for students of various schools in the city on December 26, followed by cake festival at Rajendra Kalamandir, Ramanuja road on December 28 and 29 between 9 am and 9 pm. On December 28 at 6 pm, KSIC Mysore Silk Fashion Show has been organised at Open Air Theatre in Manasgangotri, while carol singing is at Exhibition Grounds on December 29 at 6 pm.

The other attractions include Chamundi Hill step climbing contest, Santa Claus in Mysore Tonga, Sankranti special programmes and running race for tourists.That apart KSRTC will be running additional fleet of 100 buses from Mysore to Bangalore, Madikeri, Dharmasthala and Shimoga, besides Kerala (Kochi and Trivandrum), Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh.
