A humourous take

Last Updated 13 April 2014, 13:27 IST

In keeping with the current focus on gender, Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan with Flinntheater, is presenting ‘C Sharp C Blunt’ by singer-actress MD Pallavi at Ranga Shankara on April 16, 7.30 pm. It is directed by Sophia Stepf.

The performance returns to Bangalore having won three META awards — ‘Best Actress in Leading Role’, ‘Best Original Script’, and ‘Best Innovative Sound/Music Design’. Currently on a Goethe-sponsored five-city tour of India, ‘C Sharp C Blunt’ is a witty, humorous and satirical interrogation of what it is like being a woman in the entertainment industry today.

It explores the realms of digital dramaturgy, repetition and user choices to create a new
hybrid form of theatre-meets-performance art. MD Pallavi is Bangalore’s own singer, actress and film-maker. The text collaborators for the performance are Swar Thounaojam, Irawati Karnik while the assistant director is Rituparna Bhattacharya.

Live sound is by Nikhil Nagaraj and light design is by Muhammad Mustafa A.

Tickets are available at Ranga Shankara and bookmyshow.com.
