The department of literary and cultural association of Kristu Jayanti College recently organised Samyagdarshan, the annual college day.

Addressing the gathering, Rev Fr Sebastian TA said, “We always work towards upholding our theme of scaling great heights through empowerment.” He then read out the annual report which highlighted the achievements of the college in the last one year which makes the college rank first among the best colleges in the City.
The students always wait for the cultural programmes to begin and none of them were disappointed by what they saw.

The event began with a traditional dance by the final-year commerce students.
The sheer strength of the students and their spell- binding performance left the audience asking for more.

There were several performances that marked the celebrations and the day drew to an end with performances by two of the college bands — ‘Woodrock’ and ‘Signature’.
The crown for ‘Mr Jayantian’ and ‘Ms Jayantian’ went to Alan Polson and Keerthy Anna Abraham respectively.

Speaking after receiving the title, Alan Polson, the recipient of ‘Mr Jayantian’ title, said, “To be recognised as a ‘Jayantian’ is more of a privilege than an achievement. I take great pride in being a product of this institution.”
Keerthy Anna Abraham who bagged the other title couldn’t contain her excitement when she said, “The teachers have played a decisive role in moulding her character from day one. I will always be grateful to them.” Aziz Lamin, a final-year student and a stage performer said that he is proud to be a Jayantian.

“Singing is my forte and I am most comfortable when I am on the stage.
That’s evident from my presence at all stage shows,” he said. Vinita Varghese, student coordinator of Samyagdarshan said that she was thrilled with the overwhelming response to the event.
