Magic shows enchant everyone, from kids to adults and even the elderly, but have you ever wondered how modern magic mixed with traditional psychology can leave you amazed and dumbstruck?

Humour Me, along with Karan Singh at Akshara Theatre created such a magical evening – The Mind Reader and Mentalist, that left all present flabbergasted, fascinated and awestruck!

Karan Singh, who set the tone for the evening with his magic pulling out rabbits from his hat and sawing people into two, is a magic practitioner since the age of 11 years and has been getting better ever since. Now, not only he does produce magic but blends it with traditional psychology to leave his audience astonished and in the world of illusion.

A ‘mentalist’ is a person who specialises in “psychological illusion,” by using a variety of techniques with a radically different plot and purpose and can pluck a thought from your mind. Karan defines his expertise in his own words as, “Magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship mixed with a bit of hypnosis to give the illusion of reading minds.”

The Mind Reader and the Mentalist is a unique show even for modern magic. The show is entirely based on audience participation through hypnosis, cognitive psychology, memory manipulation, subliminal suggestion and reading body language. The best thing about the show is that each and every member of the audience has the power to influence and change the show into a disaster; yet, Karan Singh’s perfection doesn’t let that happen.

He would just tell you the number of cards when you cut a deck into two just by seeing the pack, will tell you the position of the card that you just kept on the table with a number of other cards, remember the whole deck of cards and evens shoot himself with three guns out of four shuffled by an audience member, except the one which has a bullet in it.

The show does not believe in leaving you stunned but gives you a full-packed experience of humour as complementary to the magical, jaw-dropping event. Karan Singh’s interactive skills towards the audience are so humorous that it leaves a person rolling with laughter. You will obviously say when you leave the hall: “How did he do that?” As Humour Me’s tradition is, they will also surprise you with the last element of the show.

Over years of hard work and performances spread across the international arena, Karan Singh the mind reader, illusionist and hypnotist has built his reputation on stage and television by using techniques from traditional magic and conjuring to hypnosis, cognitive psychology, memory manipulation, subliminal suggestion and reading body language. Not only has he performed for Indian celebrities but also for those at the international level.
