Over 400 children put together a cultural programme ‘Baavre Sur’, over the weekend to share their magical journey of empowerment through creative learning. The event also provided a platform for children across Delhi to come out of their homes and perform on stage for the first time.

This medley of music and drama, was organised by the team of Modicare Foundation at Arya Auditorium.

The event started with a short play Panchayat, directed by Nadeem Khan, which is based on the story by Premchand. The story revolves around the theme that deliverence of justice is more noteworthy and valuable than mere friendship. Having played an important role in the play, Khushboo, a young participant, said, “I am really happy that I could deliver my performance with finesse. It was a kind of dream-come-true experience for me,” she added.

The drama was followed by a musical performance by the Khwabgah, one of the key projects of the Modicare Foundation. The foundation provides educational, health, nutritional and recreational support to homeless, street and vulnerable children and community around. The Khwabgah anthem was presented by the Khwabgah’s Khwahishen Choir, directed by the Astitva’s lead guitarist Zaman Khan.

“I always wanted to sing, and I thank Modicare Foundation for providing me an opportunity to showcase my talent,” said Samir Malik, a choir member.

According to the team of Modicare Foundation, ‘Baavre Sur’ is an attempt to thank people for enabling them to make a difference and commemorate these 18 years of making a difference.
Modicare Foundation, initially set up to spread awareness and combat HIV/AIDS, works on a variety of critical issues.
