Armyman murdered at Wellington

Last Updated 19 December 2009, 18:47 IST

Ramaswamy, 45, originally belonging to the “Madras Regimental Company (MRC),” was found with stab injuries around 3:30 am lying unconscious in a pool of blood, by one of the guards on duty at DSSC, top police sources told Deccan Herald over the phone.

Ramaswamy, a non-commissioned officer, was in charge of logistics at DSCC, including liaising with other departments, duty distribution, and mess arrangements, sources said. He was brutally stabbed to death with a knife, probably around midnight.

The deceased official was from Kovilpatti in Tuticorin district and his body has been sent for post-mortem, sources added. “We have no definite clue yet, but we are confident of cracking this case soon,” police said.

As the DSSC is a high-security place, the probability of any outsider gaining entry into the campus was very remote, police said, adding, it could have been an insider’s job stemming from personal enmity.
