The State government has nominated 20 members to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Council.

These 20 members have been nominated for the first time after the Congress government came to power in the State. The Urban Development Department has passed the order to this effect.

The nominated members are: H S Syed Amanullah (KR Puram), H Ramamurthy (Yeshwantpur), G S Krishnamurthy (Dasarahalli), Bhaskar Reddy (Mahadevapura), K V Patil Raju (Bommanahalli), G Anand Murthy (Mahalakshmi Layout), Noor Jaan (Pulikeshi Nagar), K Manjunath (CV Raman Nagar), A B Khadir Haji (Shanthinagar), A H Vijay Kumar (Rajajinagar), T Ramesh (Vijayanagar), N  Amaresh (Chikpet), T Nataraj (Shivajinagar), Lakshmipathi (Padmanabhanagar), R Shobha (Jayanagar), D Raghu and G John (Sarvagnanagar), L Lingaiah (Gandhinagar), Sampath (BTM Layout) and K E Harish (Malleswaram).

Last year, the Congress government had cancelled the nomination of the 20 members after coming to power. Challenging the cancellation, the members nominated by the erstwhile BJP government had approached High Court, which granted a stay. Recently, the stay was vacated, thus paving way for the nomination of 20 members.
