Counting of votes in progress - live blog

Counting of votes is underway in three Lok Sabha and 33 assembly constituencies across 10 states. Here are the key developments:

3: 58 pm:

Uttar Pradesh results- SP wins 8 seats, BJP 3

3:40 pm: TRS retains Medak Lok Sabha seat Read

2.15 pm: Gujarat Assembly - final Result: BJP - 6, Congress - 3 in Assembly. BJP wins Vadodara Lok Sabha seat Read

1.55 pm: TRS candidate K Prabhakar Reddy wins Medak Lok Sabha bypoll by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes. 
1.40 pm. SP Wins Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency, which was vacated by Mulayam Singh Yadav. 

1.30 pm. The CPI(M) wins Manu assembly constituency in Tripura.

1.10 pm  SP wins 6 seats in UP: Charkhari, Balha, Thakurdwara, Hamirpur, Sirathu, Nigasan

1. pm Assembly results: BJP + Allies - 12, SP - 9, Congress 7, Others - 4  (32/ 32) 

12.45 pm.  In Assam, Congress wins Lakhipur Assembly constituency.

12.35 pm. In Uttar Pradesh, SP wins 3 seats (Charkhari, Balha and Thakurdwara).

12.30 pm: Assembly results: (32/ 32): BJP + Allies - 13, SP - 9, Congress 6, Others - 4
 
12.25 pm: Gujarat - 8 seats declared. BJP gets 6 and Congress 2 

12.15 pm: 
SP is now leading in 8 out of 11 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP leading in 3. CM Akhilesh Yadav says people of UP have rejected communal forces

12 noon: Assembly results -  (32/ 32): BJP + Allies - 13, SP - 9, Congress 6, Others - 4 o

11.52 am: Gujarat: BJP wins 6 seats (Maninagar, Tankara, Talaja, Anand, Matar and Limkheda) and Congress wins 2 (Deesa and Mangrol)

11.45 am: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) wins the Nandigama Assembly constituency in Seemandhra.

11.36 am: BJP wins  Basirhat Dakshin in West Bengal and TMC gets Chowringhee. 

11.30 am: 
Assembly results: (32/ 32): BJP + Allies - 12, SP - 9, Congress 6, Others - 5 #bypollresults

11.15 am: 
Rajasthan: BJP wins Kota South and Congress wins Nasirabad seat.


10. 55 am. Three Cong, one BJP candidate leading in Rajasthan. Read

10. 40 am. Congress wins 2 seats in Gujarat. Deesa and Mangrol. The BJP has won Maninagar and Tankara seats, plus the Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency, vacated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

9.55 am. In UP BJP trailing in six of the 10 assembly seats it vacated. SP ahead in 6. Congress in 1. In Rajasthan, BJP and Congress both ahead in 2 assembly constituencies each. 

9.40 am. TMC leading in both Basirhat Dakshin and Chowrangee in West Bengal. In Assam, AIUDF ahead in all 3 Assembly constituencies.

9.30 am - Overall Assembly results (30/ 32): BJP + Allies - 14, Congress - 7, Others - 9

9.27 am In UP BJP ahead in 5 Assembly constituencies. SP and Congress ahead in 5 and 1 constituencies respectively. 

9.16 am - In Uttar Pradesh BJP ahead in 5 Assembly constituencies. SP and Congress ahead in 3 and 1 constituencies respectively. TMC leading in both Basirhat Dakshin and Chowrangee in West Bengal.

9. 10 am - Latest Assembly results - (28/ 32): BJP + Allies - 14, Congress - 6, Others - 8.

9. 00 am - Uttar Pradesh: BJP leading on 4 seats, SP on 2. TDP leading in Nandigama seat in Andhra Pradesh

8.55 am - Overall Leads for Assembly By-polls (25/ 32): BJP + Allies - 15, Congress - 5, Others - 5.


8.40 am - In West Bengal: Out of 2 seats, TMC is reportedly leading in one. In Rajasthan  BJP and Congress leading in 2 seats each. In Gujarat,  Cong leading in 4, BJP leading in 3.

8.15 am - The three Lok Sabha seats are in Vadodara (Gujarat), Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) and Medak (Telangana). Eleven assembly constituencies are in UP, nine in Gujarat, four in Rajasthan, two in West Bengal, five in Northeastern states and one each in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

8.10 am – Counting begins in all 10 states.
