Last Updated 20 October 2014, 20:32 IST

A 17-month-old toddler was grievously injured when a pack of stray dogs attacked him outside his home in Anjana Nagar in JP Nagar 9th Phase, early on Monday.

The victim, Kumaraswamy, after being taken from one hospital to another, is now said to be out of danger.

According to witnesses, Kumaraswamy, son of migrant labourers from Andhra Pradesh, was mauled by around five dogs when he stepped out of his house around 6 am.

Panic-stricken parents Nagamma and Ramesh rushed the bleeding child to Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Referral Hospital in the area. But, due to lack of specialists, the child had to be taken to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) hospital, off Chamarajpet.

After first aid at KIMS, the child was shifted to state-run K C General Hospital in Malleswaram. Dr Lakshmipathy, paediatrician, K C General Hospital, said that Kumaraswamy is being administered antibiotics and is out of danger.
