Mico Employees Association President S Prasanna Kumar on Tuesday said that the Mico Employees Union, which has been leading a strike against the Bosch management, is ready to resolve all issues in a reasonable and amicable way.

“We want justice on the five issues we raised. Our employees are giving their time and energy for the company and they should get their due,” Prasanna Kumar said. The Bosch employees have been on strike since March 8, 2013.

On compensation hospitalisation, the union said that it has been demanding reimbursement. “We are ready to adjust on the steadied standard time issue (SVF - a measurement for time and motion taken by an employee in achieving output from a machine). Management should understand the quality time invested by employees,” Kumar said.

On temporary staff issue, he said the management is planning a new pay structure for them. “We want them to be regularised and given full salary on par with the permanent staff,” he said.

He also wanted the management to give employees a higher package than that at the Nashik plant. “Bosch employees in Bangalore are improving productivity and quality which is unmatchable compared to other plants and we are using the resource potential to the maximum,” he said.

When contacted, a Bosch spokesperson said that the company is ready to follow the instructions of High Court and resolve the issue amicably. “It is an over 22-month strike and we held discussions with the union. We have full faith in the law of the land.

The company maintains that its stand on the wage offered to the union which is one of the best in the industry,” he said.
