Mahila Morcha demands CBI inquiry into attack on IAS officer

Last Updated 30 October 2014, 17:14 IST

BJP Mahila Morcha members have demanded CBI inquiry into the attack on Director General of Administrative Training Institute V  Rashmi Mahesh.

The attack showed that women at helm are also vulnerable to such attacks and the state government should initiate steps against the attackers.

Addressing the protest rally organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha Dakshina Kannada district in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, here on Thursday, Morcha State Secretary Shyamala Kundar condemned the attack on IAS officer.

“The incident was pre- planned and the government has failed to punish the culprits. When the government could not give protection to a IAS officer, how can the government protect common women,” she asked.

Rashmi Mahesh was transferred 23 times in her 18 years of career.

It seems that the government does not want the service of such sincere officers. The government has transferred Harsh Guptha for revealing the misappropriations under ‘Annabhagya’ scheme.

If the government continues to transfer efficient and sincere officers, then people will teach a lesson to the Congress government in the next election, she said. Meanwhile, she said that BJP has submitted a memorandum to the Governor demanding CBI inquiry into the attack on Rashmi Mahesh.

“The State Government should find persons behind the attack and also go to the root of the charges of misappropriation of funds in the ATI as pointed out by Rashmi,” she said.

Puttur Taluk Panchayat President Pulasya Rai accused the Congress leaders of interfering in the administrative work.

“Efforts are on to transfer ZP CEO Tulasi Maddineni. The service of Rashmi should be continued in Mysore,” she added.  District BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretary Roopa D Bangera said that the atrocities on women are on rise in the state. The government should wake up and take stringent action against culprits.
