This season, Fabindia has an exotic collection of garments and jewellery to offer. Its range includes colourful kurtis, palazzo pants, stoles, bags and clutches. The designers of Fabindia have worked around black and red to create some unique garments.

The ‘Red and Black Collection’ of garments and accessories celebrate the drama and energy of reds with the elegance and intensity that come with black.

The design team explains that for a classic look, women can choose from the timeless A-line ‘kurtas’ highlighting bold patterns which are created using traditional craft techniques such as ‘ikat’, ‘mirror embroidery’ and ‘applique’. “Offering choices for both casual as well as dressy wear, the collection has an exclusive range of silk ‘angrakha’ styles with classic ‘soof’ embroidery along with flared ‘kurtas’ featuring unique combination of ‘ajrakh’ print and ‘kasuti’ embroidery,” they say.

The men’s wear and women’s wear are designed keeping their lifestyle in mind. The team makes sure that every piece of garment goes perfectly with the fashionable outlook of the young people in every growing city.

The brand also stocks a stunning range of footwear and accessories for women. The design team points out that for a contemporary look, one can pick from new styles in tunics, short ‘kurtas’, tops, skirts, waistcoats, harem pants and dresses in trendy cuts and silhouettes.

“Some of the must-haves in this collection include the silk tunics with luxurious brocade hem and cuffs, tiered dresses with abstract prints, short ‘kurtas’ with engineered yoke and hem line details,” they say. “Mirroring the colour palette of the garments, the new offering has an extensive range of stoles and ‘dupattas’,” they add.

Fabindia is popular for employing the traditional craft techniques such as tie and dye, applique, embroidery, hand painting and mirror work. The thrust is on using traditional art and craft to give the garments a modern, contemporary look.

“Apart from the colour and design, the techniques we use are unique which is what sets us apart from the other brands. Our block-printed garments are popular. We use various techniques like ‘ajrak’, ‘bagru’, ‘bandhini’, ‘embroidered’ and ‘applique’ garments,” they state.

One can mix and match the clothes to get the best combination. And to enhance the look, a shopper can choose from a range of accessories including jewellery, stoles and ‘jutis’.
