Valedictory of Divaana Bheema Bhatta birth centenary on Jan 25

The valedictory of birth centenary celebrations of legendary Himmela Vadaka of Tenkutittu Yakshagana Divaana Bheema Bhatta will be organised at Naalyapadau School premises of Shakthinagar in Mangaluru on January 25, at 2 pm.

Briefing reporters, Divaana Bheema Bhatta Birth Centenary Celebration Committee Secretary Divaana Govinda Bhat said that Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Keshavanandabharati Mahaswami will inaugurate the programme which will be followed by a Talamaddale.

District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai will preside over the function.
Committee Honorary President, District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai said that Yakshagana critic M Prabhakar Joshi will deliver the commemorating speech. Renowned doctor, artist Dr Bhaskarananda Kumar will be felicitated. Mangalore Urban Development Authority former chairman T Shyam Bhat will release ‘Divaana Sampada’, he said.

CD to be released
A CD of Himmela Vaadana of Divaana Bheema Bhatta will be released on the occasion. Sri Ramachandra Kripa Poshita Yakshagana Mandali Hosanagara will stage ‘Hidimba Vivaaha- Sougandhika Harana- Dushyasana Vadhe- Raktharaathri’ Yakshagana. After the inauguration of the birth centenary celebrations on March 23, 2014, a Talamaddale series was organised, the Minister said.

The DK District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura,  scholar Vedamurthy Hiranya Venkateshwara Bhat and others were present.
