The big budget film

The total budget of Porki is just over seven crore! This makes it the costliest of all Darshan films. And twenty-five per cent of it went towards the actors' remuneration, according to producer Dattatreya.

Darshan, who had given his callsheet two years ago, has charged what he charges these days. But, he feels the film has come out very well, after watching it during dubbing. Another news was that the late Vishnuvardhan was approached to do Nasser's role, which was eventually done by Avinash.

Praneeta however seems happy about her role. “I have attempted to overtake Ileana in the original,” said she.  Lahari Velu was grinning from ear to ear over the response that Porki songs have got and they have been declared a hit already.
