Woman tries to avoid BWSSB pit, hit by bus, dies

In a tragic incident, a 45-year old woman died on the spot when a private bus rammed her bike near Johnson Market. She was trying to avoid a BWSSB valve pit when the incident occurred.

The deceased has been identified as Celestine D'souza, a resident of Ejipura. A complaint has been filed with the Ashok Nagar police station.

As reported in Deccan Herald earlier, the Quality Control Engineering (QCE) wing of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) stated that more than 90 per cent of the roads in the city were substandard.

The use of substandard construction materials was the main reason for pathetic condition of the roads.
