A gourmet's delight

Last Updated 28 February 2015, 02:31 IST

When Arun and Basil and two of their friends, who are passionate about food, got together and decided to blaze a new trail, it turned out to be a gourmet’s delight. The quartet hit upon the idea of serving an assortment of items and experiment with different cuisines through their eatery called ‘Paradox Resto Cafe’.

There is a feeling of warmth as soon as you step into the cafe. The team takes time off to socialise and understand  customers’ needs. They personally supervise the proceedings in the kitchen to make sure nothing is amiss. All the dishes on the menu have been tried and tested. They manage the eatery along with their regular jobs.

The interiors of the eatery have a rustic feel. Arun explains, “We always wanted to have a place that has a warm and casual feel to it. We understood that people like to spend time in a simple and interesting settings rather than a complicated place. Here, we have tried to mix art with food.”

The menu has been structured after an extensive amount of research and the four of them have delved into various techniques of cooking to see what works best for them. “We wanted to delight our customers with different taste experience at affordable costs,” shares Basil .

The must-try dishes are ‘Winy Beef’ where the meat and mushroom are cooked on slow fire and served with ‘Brioche’ bread and pomegranate salad on the side.
The ‘Dorai’s Chicken’ is cooked in Jamaican style with roast chicken. “Here, the dish is cooked on firewood and later fried in the oven,” adds Arun. Other popular dishes with the regulars include ‘pork stew’, ‘mushroom cloud’ where the mushroom is first sauteed with caramelised onions and made into a sandwich and served with salad and wedges.

There are also dishes in chicken which are cooked in a special tangy sauce. “We have created a menu that includes just about everything in the meat category for non-vegetarians and the vegetarians too wouldn’t be disappointed,” shares Basil.

The eatery is open from 10.30 am to 10.30 pm and is located at 100G, 3rd Cross, Hennur Cross Road, opposite Grace Apartments, Kalyan Nagar. For details, call 41108043.
