Last Updated 04 March 2015, 06:28 IST

The Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM) B School recently kicked off the 20th year celebrations on a grand note on the occasion of Founder’s Day. Various performances by students and faculty were held as part of the event.

Children, aged six to 15, sang a number of Hindi, Kannada, English and Bengali hits and showcased their skills to the audience. Some of the popular hits included ‘Aamhi Jetho Ma’ and Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’. One of the students played the harmonium and encouraged the audience to sing along. The performance included folk dances from Maharashtra and Karnataka which were performed by students in a traditional attire. The students also performed a well-choreographed Bollywood dance to the top songs of 2014 and 2015.

‘Skullz Group’, that consisted of three talented dancers who are the alumni of the school, showcased their various moves too. Be it hip hop, popping, locking or dubstep, the dancers enthralled everyone with their moves.

The surprise of the evening was a vocal performance by the faculty. They had prepared a number of inspiring songs and sang a medley dedicated to the students. The event ended with a fashion show where students walked the ramp showing off their style and fashion quotient.

The celebrations, themed on ‘Transformation’, will continue throughout the year. As part of this, a walkathon titled ‘Kanyathon 2015’ will be held on March 8 at Cubbon Park to support women empowerment and save the girl child programme.

The programme will also involve talks on leadership and entrepreneurship from industry giants, motivational speakers and self-made businessmen.
