The Bombay Attic’, a multi-designer boutique, showcases an eclectic collection of clothing, and accessories for women. Sarayu Hegde, the owner, says that there are a lot of talented Indian designers and she is just providing them a platform to showcase their designs. Rather than high-street fashion, she aims to provide clothes that are made by Indian designers, who could be the ‘next big thing’.

She says, “When it comes to accessories, statement pieces are acceptable and materials other than silks, georgettes and chiffons are also in vogue.”  ‘The Bombay Attic’ attempts to cater to women above a certain age although even youngsters appreciate their collection. “These days, almost all designer wear is for the youth and people of a certain build. So my collections are usually for a slightly older crowd and not for size zero only.”
The e-commerce portal ‘Pookari’, meanwhile, ropes in designers who are capable of producing sophisticated yet quirky pieces of art that are grounded in Indian aesthetics and sensibilities.

Vyshnavi Annush has curated the latest collection for the website. A software engineer, she incorporates her love for travel, timeless style and sharp sense of dressing in each collection. According to her, accessories could “make or break you”. “It all depends
on the outfit you are wearing and how you pair them with it. They can either accentuate your look or make you look bad.”

Vyshnavi sees a growing trend among the youth. “This Spring/Summer Collection is all about metallics and Bohemian-chic. Whether it’s clutches, statement necklaces or charms, people have taken to metallics in a big way. They are quirky, fun and elegant.” She adds,
“We try to sell products that are different and aren’t easily available in the market. They aren’t just Indian ethnic but statement pieces.”
