Baseless propaganda meant to defame Modi govt: Shah

Last Updated 26 April 2015, 02:31 IST

BJP president Amit Shah accused opposition parties of misleading the people and performing baseless political stunts to defame Narendra Modi-led BJP government.

Praising last one year of BJP rule, Shah claimed that unlike previous UPA government, no scam or corruption case has been levelled against any of his party members.

“They are doing false propaganda that BJP is working for corporate sector. But I want to ask previous UPA government that who handed over the mines to corporate people? What about 2G scam and chopper deals ?” asked Amit Shah.

“BJP government conducted auction of coal mines and gained Rs 2 lakh crore. Similarly Rs 1.09 lakh crores were raised by spectrum auction. Now this money is going to be used for the relief and welfare of farmers of the country,” he added.

BJP chief was addressing a rally of party workers at Amroodon ka Bagh in Jaipur.
He was in Jaipur to boost the morale of party workers after an aggressive membership drive in the state.

“We have already crossed the 75 lakh membership figure in this state and soon there will be a time that no other party will find a place here. Our party workers have toiled hard, going to the smallest of towns and villages,” Shah said.

Shah said that party workers should be proud of their Prime Minister and face the opposition parties strongly.

“This is the government for poor, which has taken steps to eradicate corruption”, he said.
Talking about the achievements of BJP in last one year, Shah said that the government’s first priority was to bring back black money and a special investigation team was constituted for that.

“Crores of families did not have a single bank account but in 11 months through the Jan Dhan Yojana BJP has reached 14 crore household with new bank accounts. The BJP has brought down petrol and diesel rates too,” he said.

Meets farmer’s family
BJP president Amit Shah along with Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje met the family of Gajendra Singh, the farmer who committed suicide in a rally of AAP in New Delhi.
Shah and Raje consoled his family at his native village Nangal Jhamarwada village in Dausa district of Rajasthan.

Sources in BJP said that Shah had no programme to visit Gajendra’s house but his schedule was changed after coming to Rajasthan, where senior leaders decided to pay the visit.
After addressing a party workers meeting in the state, Shah and Raje immediately left for Dausa amid tight security.

Father Bane Singh showed his son’s handwritten diary to Amit Shah and told him that handwriting in suicide note doesn’t match with son Gajendra.

Family members demanded a CBI probe into the case to which Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje assured an impartial probe.

Sources in the Congress party said that there is a strong possibility that party vice president Rahul Gandhi may visit Dausa on Sunday to meet the victim’s family.
