A call was made to the police control room after which Chetan was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for treatment.

“I was walking my dog after dinner when I noticed two men on a motorcycle coming towards me. I stood aside, so that my dog doesn’t jump on the motorcycle, but the motorcyclists came close and the pillion rider started firing at me,” Chetan told Deccan Herald.

“Just when the firing started, my dog jumped on the motorcyclists. I sustained a bullet on my hand, while my dog died on the spot,” he added.

A case under Indian Penal Code and Arms Act has been registered with Dabri police station.
In his statement to police, Chetan has named a few people whom he suspects could be behind the attack.

“Chetan has given us names of some people and we are investigating the names of these people. We are also taking help from the footage of a CCTV camera installed near the spot,” said a police officer.

According to Chetan, some local political volunteers and the councillor of Madhu Vihar area had been wrongly using his name by extorting money from policemen in the name
