Gabbar is Back
Hindi (U/A) Cast: Akshay Kumar, Shruti Haasan, Suman Talwar
Director: Krish

Akshay is a physics professor who conducts classes on verandahs. He takes great pleasure in explaining “bend”, “twist” and “shear” by breaking the bones of goons who try to enforce a strike in college.

After campus, Akshay turns Gabbar, the vigilante who kills corrupt tahsildars, cops and district collectors (why not?), and hangs their bodies across the cityscape.

Turns out our hangman has a sob story to hold against the system (a fairytale romance in flashback tells us that his love was killed in a building collapse).

So the wronged hero goes on with all his guns blazing, determined to kill the erring real estate shark.

Now, that shark (Suman Talwar) boasts that he is a “brand” nobody can mess with. Gabbar roars back: “I’m a bigger brand than you.”

Wish both hired better brand managers to tell them that a script can’t thrive on throaty dialogues and an abundance of facial hair .Meanwhile, Akshay’s current love interest
(Shruti Haasan — red lips, zero emoting) is busy serving her Google gyaan around. The pea-brained lawyer starts all her lines with “Google says...”

Wish the viewers too googled for a better forecast of the ensuing onslaught. Gabbar is Back is the remake of Vishnu Sena (Kannada) which is the remake of Tagore (Telugu) which is the remake of Ramanaa (Tamil, which is the original). Phew!

The bearded crusader, however, keeps his act going. “I hate sorrys,” thunders Akshay as he swirls his apologetic opponents away to outer space.Gabbar shouldn’t have bothered to return.
