Cabinet approves tenders for infra projects in City

The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved tenders for taking up various infrastructure projects in Bengaluru City ahead of the BBMP elections.

Briefing reporters on the Cabinet decisions, Law Minister T B Jayachandra said Rs 153.42-crore tender for the proposed signal-free corridor between Mysuru Road junction to Central Silk Board junction on the Outer Ring Road had been cleared.

Approval was also given for a Rs 140.91-crore tender for the proposed signal-free corridor between Mekhri Circle and Hope Farm near Whitefield, he added.

The minister said contractors had quoted 25 per cent more than the tender amount for taking up signal-free corridor projects. Hence, the BBMP had put up the proposal before the Cabinet. Besides, different tenders for the construction of retaining walls of Challaghatta and Koramangala valleys were approved by the Cabinet, he said.

The Cabinet approved a proposal to give away six guntas of karab land to one Kasturirangan and Murali Mohan at double the market value of land, he said.
