A north Delhi-based businessman claimed that the SHO of Keshavpuram police station threatened him at gunpoint to vacate a rented factory.

Sandeep told Deccan Herald that he was also handcuffed and taken to the local police station, where a bribe was demanded to settle the matter.

Fed up with the ‘torture’, Sandeep filed a complaint with the Vigilance Branch of Delhi Police with audio recordings of the conversations.

Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deepak Mishra has promised strict action in the complaint.

“SHO Keshavpuram Inspector Raghvinder Singh Mann and two other officers have been shifted out on the orders of Delhi Police Commissioner Bhim Sain Bassi,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Vigilance) Sindhu Pillai.

According to Sandeep, he had a dispute with the factory owner due to which he filed a complaint with local police in March.

“The factory owner was illegally forcing me to vacate the factory despite having a contract. He wanted me to leave as I was not willing to pay a hiked rent,” Sandeep told Deccan Herald.

The factory owner also filed a complaint. Police took the statement of both the parties, but Sandeep claimed that the factory owner bribed policemen.

“They were taking actions in favour of the factory owner. During this period, I was also kept detained at the local police station. They were demanding a bribe,” Sandeep added.
To prove his point, Sandeep also recorded his conversations with the policemen on March 22 and March 30. He approached the Vigilance Branch with the audio recordings on May 29, and named Raghvinder and Sub-Inspector Krishan Kumar in his complaint.

DCP (Vigilance) Pillai told Deccan Herald that it was found on enquiry that Raghvinder and Krishan had not handled the complaint as per the established procedure and had shown dishonest intentions.

“The audio recordings furnished by the complainant proved their dishonest intentions although there was no proof of any bribe taken by any of the officers,” Pillai said.
It has been established that the policemen misbehaved with Sandeep.

In a report to Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deepak Mishra, the Vigilance Branch has recommended strict action against the policemen.
