As per the government order in this regard, the names of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Soumendhu Mukherjee, Superintendent of Police Labhu Ram were cleared along with 12 other officials, including three DySPs, seven police inspectors and two sub-inspectors. Soumendhu Mukherjee is presently working as Director, Security and Vigilance KSRTC, while Labhu Ram is DCP (West) in Bengaluru city. Sources said that the SIT will have two DySPs from Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

“The government has cleared the names of officials on which the request was sent from ADGP Kamal Pant. However, a notification in this regard is yet to be issued. Once the notification is issued, the SIT can start its work,” an official said.
