The Modi government on Tuesday asked state governments to step up crackdown on hoarders to keep prices of fruits and vegetables on a leash in the “dangerous months” spanning from July to November.
Every year prices of commodities such as onions, potatoes and tomatoes rein high between July and November owing to short supply. The prices cool down around November when fresh farm produce hits the markets.
