Versatile kiwi fruit milieus were showcased as part of the #TheSecretFruitAffair, a multi-city event, which was launched by Zespri India in tandem with ITC Gardenia recently.

This multi-city event started its first leg in the City and showcased dishes from all across the globe.

The evening, specially organised for fruit lovers, saw innovative kiwi fruit dish preparations, such as the Kiwi Sasam (a kiwi take on the Goan dish of the same name), Italian Aglio Olio (vodka marinated kiwi and tuna with spaghetti), kiwi tortilla with a Japanese twist and kiwi tarts (European).

After a blind tasting of Kiwi Martini and Kiwi Mojito, the excited bunch successfully guessed the fruit of the season and lent a hand to chef Kamlesh Joshi, chef Sasha Fernandes and chef Arvind Prasad.

“Zespri’s SunGold Kiwifruit tastes of the tropics, sweet and mellow, a delightful mix of mango and melon flavours.

The SunGold Kiwi is very versatile as you can eat it by itself, make fun monsoon drinks and it is also easy to cook with,” said chef Yogen Dutta, Executive Chef of ITC Gardenia.
