According to Dr Isaac, since the tumor was occupying almost the whole of the right hemithorax and compressing the right lung, all precaution measures were initiated to deal with a difficult intubation and management of large volume blood loss.  A group of senior surgeons comprising of cardiothoracic surgeons including Dr A Sivaraman, Prof Dr K Dhamodaran, Asst.Prof and anesthetists experts operated on him and removed three kilo tumor by carefully preserving the right lung.

After the complicated surgery, the patient recovered well and will be discharged soon.  “Removal of such big tumors is a challenging task since the tumor was developed in the patient’s chest. However, our team of surgeons and anesthetists have done the job safely by removing the tumour, free of cost, under the chief minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme,” Dr Isaac Christian Moses said.
