Korean Fest's finale sees big wins

With Korean pop culture becoming an increasingly globalised phenomenon with its new-age catchy music, the Korean Cultural Centre, KOFICE organised the 4th edition of K- POP 2015 festival. Titled “2015 Feel Korea with K-POP Contest India”, the grand finale of the festival organised at the Siri Fort Auditorium, saw contestants from seven Indian states.

Incorporating audio-visual elements, the challenge saw tough competition between the regional contenders along with a special entry from Nepal. The wild card entries, The Brooks (in the song category) from Delhi and Frozen Crew (in the dance category) from Mizoram were crowned the new ‘K-Pop Stars from India’, while Rewathi Sukumaran from Chennai and Dance Xenos from Mizoram bagged the second position in the song and dance category respectively.

Spread over four and a half months, the song and dance contest involved three stages - online contest, preliminary round and the grand finale - which were held across the country in Bangalore, Mumbai, Mizoram and Delhi.

“It was amazing to see the tough competition. Every year we are getting great response and enthusiasm of the people is motivating,” says director Kim Kum Pyoung.
Mizoram’s Frozen Crew (dance) emerged victorious. The winners not only get a chance to visit Korea but will get a chance to represent India at the K-POP World Festival 2015, South Korea.

The grand finale performances were judged by Korean Band ZE:AJ. A special performance by Korean Band IMFACT enthralled the audience. The final contest was followed by FEEL KOREA IN INDIA Concert where K-POP lovers enjoyed performances by 6 K-Pop Stars, Teen Top, ZE:AJ, 100%, Bestie, Almeng and IMFACT.
