A 45-year-old man has been accused of sexually assaulting his underage stepdaughter and intimidating her over the past six months.

The 14-year-old girl recently narrated the ordeal to her mother who then sought help from her relatives. On Monday night, they all confronted the suspect at their home in Byatarayanapura but he tried to run away. He jumped from the terrace and fractured a leg. He was caught and beaten up before being turned over to the police.

In a complaint to the police, the girl’s family stated that the suspect had sexually assaulted her over the past six months. He had also warned her against disclosing the matter to anyone, they said. The police said they had arrested the man and admitted him to a hospital. The victim was subjected to medical examination, they added. The suspect works as an auto-rickshaw driver.

Youth rapes minor
A 20-year-old man has been arrested by the KR Puram police for sexually assaulting and abducting a minor girl on the pretext of marrying her.

Asif Pasha, a resident of Devasandra who works at a meat shop, had befriended the 15-year-old girl, his neighbour. He promised to marry her and got physical with her. But the girl’s parents, who work as labourers, learnt about their relationship and warned her to stay away from Pasha.

But the two continued to meet clandestinely and eloped on October 8. When the girl’s parents learnt that she was missing, they complained to the police that Pasha had abducted her.

Police traced the suspect and the victim to Mulbagal, Kolar district.
Based on the parents’ complaint that the girl was forcibly taken away and sexually assaulted by Pasha, the police arrested him.
