A 25-year-old man was arrested for molesting two minor girls in Peenya on Tuesday.

The suspect, Narasimha Murthy, 25, is a construction labourer and resident of Mallasandra in Peenya.

He hails from Madhugiri in Tumakuru and his wife works at a private factory. He was booked under the Pocso Act for molesting two girls aged 10 and seven years, said the police.

On Sunday, Murthy lured a group of girls, playing in his lane, to his house by offering biscuits and bread. The children followed him to the house, where he told them he would play a horror movie. Most of the children got scared and went away, except the two girls, said the police.

He switched the television on and locked the door trapping the girls inside. He beat them when they screamed for help. He threatened them against telling anyone about the incident, said the police.

The girls informed their parents about what had happened and they in turn told Murthy’s wife about his misdeeds. She asked them to call the police.
