Bajaj Auto unveils 3 new Avenger models

Bajaj Auto has launched three new Avenger models — The Avenger Street 150, Cruise 220, and Street 220. These cruiser bikes offer a riding experience customised to rider requirements. These bikes along with wheelbase and a low-slung design offer easy rideability, a release said.

Bajaj has launched the Street format in 150cc as well. This is a category creation effort aimed at expanding the market by offering relaxed cruising in the 150cc space.

While the Cruise 220 will appeal to long distance riders, the Street format — 220 and 150 will appeal to bikers who ride to work on weekdays, and set out for long rides on weekends.

The new Avengers sport an evolved design. The Cruise 220 and Street range offer aesthetic difference in chrome and matt finishes respectively. The Cruise 220 comes with an ample dose of chrome and colour and graphics, and dons metal spoke wheels in shiny chrome that give it the traditional cruiser look. The Street range is designed to have a ‘Sportster’ look — i.e. a cruise bike with a Sporty character and muscular alloy wheels.

The large eye-catching round headlight offers a white hue for high visibility on the darkest nights. The instrument console comes with an urban design equipped with a digital LCD screen. The Cruise 220 and the Street 220 offer similar engine specifications coming with Bajaj Auto’s 220 cc DTSi engine, designed to deliver superior performance — 19 PS power and excellent low to mid-range grunt with a torque of 17.5 Nm. Both the bikes come with oil coolers to help the high-performance engine maintain engine oil temperature and viscosity irrespective of riding conditions. The handlebars come with a new lower and flatter appearance in the Street range, while the swan-neck Cruise handlebars make for easy relaxed cruising. The new Avengers also get a slightly elevated seat to provide riders with enhanced riding position, the release said. The Street touches 90-100km/h quickly, and can cruise along comfortably at 110km/h. The Street 150 is priced at Rs 74,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Both the Cruise and the Street 220 are priced at Rs 84,000 (ex- showroom Delhi).
