3-day global Ayush meet from Feb 26

A three-day Ayush Global Wellness Meet- 2016, to promote Indian medicine streams, will begin at the Palace Grounds from February 26.

At least 20,000 delegates from across the world are expected to take part in the event, organised by Karnataka Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioners Board. Several seminars besides exhibition have been planned. Visitors can look forward to as many as 1,000 delicacies made from ingredients with medicinal value. A 108-foot-tall statue of Dhanvantari will also be erected, Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader said.

‘108’ strike
Speaking about the ongoing strike by drivers and paramedics of the 108 Arogya Kavacha, the minister said the issue, being an internal one, GVK EMRI must intervene and should take responsibility. “If there are loopholes in administration, we will take action against the company as it as an essential service,” he said. “The company is saying that they would recruit new staff,” he said.
